Summary
A studio portrait, half length, of a young man, probably Edmund one of Mary Dickinson's brothers, sitting sideways on upholstered chair, his left arm over the back, his right hand on his knee. He wears light coloured tweed-style jacket which is fastenend, and light coloured trousers and a pale wide tie. He has moustache and sideburns. Plain background. 1877 Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
