Summary
A studio photograph of a girl sitting in an upholstered velver chair playing a guitar, one foot on the floor, the other on a circular upholstered stool. Her hair is tied back and she is wearing a plain calf-length dress with gathers at the yoke and a short necklace round her neck, and flat laced leather boots. Plain background and patterned carpet. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
