Summary
A photograph of the Births column of The Times, for Tuesday, 25th May 1880, the first entry reading, 'On the 22d May at 30, Upper Grosvenor-street, the Hon. Mrs. AGAR / ROBARTES, of twins.', being the entry for the birth of the Hon. Tommmy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, M.P.,1880-1915, and the Hon. Everilda Agar-Robartes, 1880-1969. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
