Summary
A photograph of the Births column of The Times, for Wednesday, 16th April 1879, the second entry reading, 'On the 12th April at 76, South Audley-street, the Hon. Mrs. AGAR- / ROBARTES, of a daughter.', being the entry for the birth of the Hon. Mary Vere Agar-Robartes, later the Hon. Mrs. Yarde Buller, 1879-1946. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
