Summary
A studio portrait, head and shoulders, of a young boy, the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, later 8th Viscount Clifden, 1887-1974, wearing matching jacket and waistcoat, white shirt with wide collar and a patterned tie. The page is illustrated with two swans on a lake with tall grasses either side and trees beyond. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
