Summary
A studio portrait, half length, of two young women, see also 890099.15 and 16. The young woman on the left is sitting above the other and wears a hat with brim up one side and feather on front, a dark dress with lace shawl tied in front and a locket on ribbon around her neck. The young woman on the right has her right arm resting on the other's knee and wears a small hat with feather trim on front, a dark dress and a lace shawl. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
