Summary
An oval studio portrait, head and shoulders, of a young woman near a window wearing dark dress with frill and bows down bodice and a locket on band around her neck. Her hair is made up in a plait. Similar to, or same as, 890099.16. The page is decorated with painting of palm, lake and water plants. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The album is thought to have belonged to Mary Dickinson, later Viscountess Clifden, containing family photographs.
