Summary
A studio portrait of a young woman standing with both arms resting on the back of a high-backed upholstered chair. She is wearing a plain long sleeved dress with buttoned bodice, a train at the back and lace around wrists and neck. Backdrop of pillar with palms and flowers. Contained in a faded black leather bound album, embossed in diamond pattern with gold tooling and with brass clasp.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
