Summary
A photograph of a summer gathering of men and women on the top of a large barge/houseboat moored by the bank of a river, a flag flying from a flag-pole on the left . Several rowing boats and punts can be seen and four oars lean against the side of the barge. Men and women also chatting on the bank, large trees beyond. A reflection of the barge is in the water in the foreground of the photograph. Contained in a black and gold photograph album relating to the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, 1887-1974 and his time at University.
Provenance
This photograph album relates to the time the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes,1887-1974, later 8th Viscount Clifden, spent at Brasenose College, Oxford University, c.1906-1909, and was given either by him or by his elder brother, the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 1883-1964, later 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
