Summary
A photograph of two young men walking onto the cricket pitch arm in arm. Both wear oversized mortar boards, one with an upright tassle, both wear cricket pads and both carry cricket bats. On the left is a group of young men including the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, later 8th Viscount Clifden, 1887-1974, wearing striped blazer and with a cigarette in his mouth. Behind are the painted cricket screens and the pavilion. One of a group of four. Contained in a black and gold photograph album relating to the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, 1887-1974 and his time at University.
Provenance
This photograph album relates to the time the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes,1887-1974, later 8th Viscount Clifden, spent at Brasenose College, Oxford University, c.1906-1909, and was given either by him or by his elder brother, the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 1883-1964, later 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
