Summary
A photograph of twenty five young men, presumably just before, or just after a cricket match. The ten in the front row are seated on chairs with the two on the far right wearing cricket pads and one holds a cricket bat. The others are standing in two rows behind, with the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes, 1892-1939, third from right in the second row. He is wearing a trilby and an overcoat over his cricket clothes and has a cigarette in his right hand. Taken with trimmed hedge and trees in background. c.1912 Probably taken the same day as 889928.8, dated April 24, 1913. Contained in a large red and gold photograph album, inscribed C.E.A-R. 1911-1914.
Provenance
This album belonged to the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes, 1892-1939, who was at Magdelene College, Cambridge, 1911-1914. and was given to the National Trust in 1953 by the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who continued to live at Lanhydrock with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
