Summary
A photograph of a large room, either hotel or club, with black pillars, ornate windows in ceiling and flock wallpaper. Lights with glass shades hang from the ceiling and there is a patterned carpet on the floor. Chairs and writing desks are arranged around the room and in the centre are two four-seater sofas, back to back, with arm chairs and circular tables nearby. The table in the foreground is covered with newspapers. Contained in a large red and gold photograph album, inscribed C.E.A-R. 1911-1914.
Provenance
This album belonged to the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes, 1892-1939, who was at Magdelene College, Cambridge, 1911-1914. and was given to the National Trust in 1953 by the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who continued to live at Lanhydrock with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
