Summary
A photograph of nineteen young men, members of the Athenaeum Club 1914, nine are wearing caps, two wear boaters and the others wear hats including the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes, 1892-1939, who sits in the middle of the front row holding a dog, a lurcher/whippet, wearing a buttonhole in his lapel. Seven of the nine young men in the front row hold walking sticks or umbrellas. Another in the second row holds a terrier. Behind is a brick wall and small brick outhouse, the roof covered in ivy and the windows covered in wire netting, the door is open. See also 889928.11 and LAN.PH.201. Provenance
This album belonged to the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes, 1892-1939, who was at Magdelene College, Cambridge, 1911-1914. and was given to the National Trust in 1953 by the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who continued to live at Lanhydrock with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
