Summary
Studio photograph of the four eldest Agar-Robartes children. Seated on a fur rug on the left of the photograph is the Hon. Mary Vere Agar-Robartes, later the Hon. Mrs. Yarde-Buller, 1879-1946; standing just in front of her is the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, his left arm over top of curved chair; behind him is the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later the Hon. Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar Robartes, M.P., 1880-1915, and to the right sitting in a curved chair, her feet on wooden stool, is the Hon. Everilda Agar-Robartes, 1880-1969. Both girls wear dresses with frilled collar and threequarter length sleeves, dark stockings and button shoes; and both boys wear pale suits with short trousers, bow ties and dark stockings and shoes. c.1889 One of twelve photographs in folding red and gilt leather frame.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and lived in the house until his death in 1966.
