Summary
Tinted oval studio photograph, half length, of a dark haired woman, seated, wearing dark dress with severe white collar and cuffs, and a white cap with long lappets; rings on both hands and a brooch at her neck. c.1860 In folding maroon leatherette case fastened with two catches, the interior of embossed red velvet, the photograph with gilt mount. Impressed on back of case in gold is photographer's name.
Provenance
Possibly a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
