Summary
Tinted studio photograph, half length, of a dark haired young woman in dark long sleeved dress and jet bracelets on both wrists and brooch at neck, sitting on a chair with her hands on her lap, her left elbow on a table on which is a tablecloth and closed book. c.1860 In folding maroon leatherette case fastened with push-button catch, the interior of dark red velvet, the photograph with gilt mount. Impressed on back of case in gold is photographer's name.
Provenance
Possibly a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
