Summary
An oval studio photograph, head and shoulders, of a young man with his arms folded, the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, M.P., 1880-1915, wearing dark jacket, high stiff collar and a buttonhole of violets. c.1901 See also LAN.PH.5009.2, 5015.2, LAN.PH.5062 and LAN.PH.5063. One of eight photographs in folding leather frame.
Provenance
As there is no photograph of the Hon. Everilda Agar-Robartes, this frame could possibly have belonged to her. It would have then come to the National Trust on her death in 1969. The Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
