Summary
Photograph showing the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes standing behind the Duchess of York/Queen Elizabeth who is wearing fur stole over her coat and a crocheted cap trimmed with flowers. She is smiling at a woman in fur trimmed coat and large brimmed hat who holds an open box with tissue paper. Princess Elizabeth, wearing coat and short white socks, is holding bag taken from the box; just visible is a child, Princess Margaret (?) holding onto small chair. Either side of this group are men, all seated, and in the background are several women in hats and coats. c.1935
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953, and remained living in the house until his death in 1966.
