Summary
Studio photograph, full length, of a woman, Frances (Fanny) Dickinson, 1838-1906, wearing a dark crinoline, her left elbow resting on a carved cupboard with curtain, and she holds an open book with both hands. Two potted plants on top of the cupboard, with draped curtain behind. Patterned wall and panelling behind, a patterned carpet on floor. See also LAN.PH.1493.10 and LAN.PH.1515.3. Contained in a photograph album with front cover in leather embossed with diamond design in black with gold decoration, brass bound edges with knob for clip; the spine and back cover are missing.
Provenance
From photographs identified this album belonged to a member of the family and was a gift of the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
