Summary
Studio photograph, full length, of a man, Francis Henry Dickinson, Esq., 1813-1890, standing with his arms folded beside a carved dining chair with upholstered seat. He wears a dark three-quarter length coat over dark waistcoat and trousers and a dark tie around his neck. On the right is a heavily decorated plinth with draped patterned curtain with tasselled tie back; panelling behind, a patterned carpet on floor. c.1862. See also 890104.2. Contained in a photograph album with front cover in leather embossed with diamond design in black with gold decoration, brass bound edges with knob for clip; the spine and back cover are missing.
Provenance
From photographs identified this album belonged to a member of the family and was a gift of the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
