Summary
Studio photograph, head and shoulders, of the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later 6th Viscount Clifden, 1844-1930, as a young man. His hair is slightly receding and he has a moustache and side whiskers. He wears a dark open jacket over pale waistcoat and striped tie and his left arm rests on the top of the arm of a chaise longue/sofa. He is staring straight at the camera. c.1865. Contained in a photograph album with front cover in leather embossed with diamond design in black with gold decoration, brass bound edges with knob for clip; the spine and back cover are missing.
Provenance
From photographs identified this album belonged to a member of the family and was a gift of the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
