Summary
Studio photograph of a young woman in silk crinoline with frilled inserts, leaning with her right elbow on a carved chest her hand under her chin and her left lower arm also resting on the chest beside an epergne with fruit and flowers. Plain background with draped curtain behind the chest. c.1870. Contained in a photograph album with front cover in leather embossed with diamond design in black with gold decoration, brass bound edges with knob for clip; the spine and back cover are missing.
Provenance
From photographs identified this album belonged to a member of the family and was a gift of the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
