Summary
Photograph of a large quadrangle, School Yard, with crenallated buildings and five-storey gatehouse in centre with two bell towers and clock showing 3 p.m. Flight of steps on right with two men in gowns, one with mortar board, standing on third and fourth steps. Boys in top hats standing in quadrangle. Statue of Henry VI in centre surrounded by railings. c.1898 See also LAN.PH.1497.27. Contained in a rectangular dark red leather album with gold shield on front and gold letters 'A.V.A-R./1896-1902'.
Provenance
This album belonged to the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, 8th Viscount Clifden, younger brother of the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
