Summary
Photograph of a young girl, Daphne Gott, with long dark hair and hair band, wearing pale knitted coat with dark buttons and cuffs, leaning on dry stone wall, a man standing on right on the near side of the wall. A house with shuttered windows can be seen in the background, a tree and trellis fencing behind the girl. Sospel c.1913 Contained in a rectangular album with green leatherette cover and brown leather spine.
Provenance
A family album, possibly belonging to the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. Daphne Gott was the daughter of Wilfred Gott and grand daughter of John Gott, Bishop of Truro 1891-1906, who lived at Trernython House, Tywardreath. Wilfred Gott and his family moved to Cornwall after his father's death but sold the house in 1926.
