Summary
Photograph of a large quadrangle, School Yard, with crenallated buildings and five-storey gatehouse in centre with two bell towers and clock showing 3 p.m. Flight of steps on right with two men in gowns, one with mortar board, standing on third and fourth steps. Boys in top hats standing in quadrangle. Statue of Henry VI in centre surrounded by railings. c.1898 See also LAN.PH.1501.24. Contained in a red leather album with gold shield on front with motto 'Floreat Etona' and gold letters 'T.C.A.-R./1894-1899'.
Provenance
This photograph album belonged to the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, M.P., 1880-1915, whilst he was at Eton and was a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
