Summary
Photograph of eleven young men, nine standing, two sitting although only cricket pads visible of one, outside brick building with mullion window, a wooden door on right. The Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, 1880-1915, stands on far left wearing top hat and tails, the others are wearing either suits and boaters or cricket clothes and caps. At least four have canes. Eton c.1899 See also LAN.PH.2030. Contained in a red leather album with gold shield on front with motto 'Floreat Etona' and gold letters 'T.C.A.-R./1894-1899'.
Provenance
This photograph album belonged to the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, M.P., 1880-1915, whilst he was at Eton and was a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
