Summary
Studio photograph, full length, of three young men, by tree trunk and two sitting on grass hummocks. The man seated on left in front of tree trunk wears a light coloured suit, leather gloves and has a hat beside him in the grass. He holds a shaped cane in his right hand and a cigar in his left. The man in the middle stands, leaning against the tree trunk, and wears light trousers and dark jacket. His right hand is tucked into his jacket and in his left gloved hand he holds his other glove and a hat. The man on the right has sideburns and is wearing a light coloured suit and holds a darker hat in his right hand. Albany, N.Y., U.S.A. c.1880 Contained in brown leather album with single brass clasp containing twenty gold edged pages, forty sides, with slip-in sections for cabinet size photos.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. This album and photographs belonged to the Dickinson family; Mary Dickinson, 1853-1921, marrying the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later 6th Viscount Clifden, 1844-1921.
