Summary
Photograph, sepia, Possibly Thomas Dickinson (fl.1885) by John Edwards (photographer) Hyde Park Corner, London. Studio photograph, head and shoulders, of a young man, possibly Thomas Dickinson, in uniform with frogging and epaulettes and wide shiny leather sash over his left shoulder which has two badges and a triple chain. Man has a centre parting and is clean shaven. Vignette c.1885 Contained in brown leather album with single brass clasp containing twenty gold edged pages, forty sides, with slip-in sections for cabinet size photos.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. This album and photographs belonged to the Dickinson family; Mary Dickinson, 1853-1921, marrying the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later 6th Viscount Clifden, 1844-1921.
