Summary
Studio photograph, full length, of a man standing beside a carved dado and panel. He wears light coloured trousers, a dark waistcoat and a dark jacket done up with the top button. He carries a top hat in his left hand and holds onto the dado with his right. A curtain and carved side table are just visible on the left of the photograph. Contained in small brown leather album with two ornate brass clasps and a small brass shield on front with three engraved initials, SCD. c.1861 (possibly Sophia Dickinson)
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. This album and photographs belonged to the Dickinson family; Mary Dickinson, 1853-1921, marrying the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later 6th Viscount Clifden, 1844-1921.
