Summary
Studio photograph, full length, of a woman wearing a crinoline skirt with dark crenellated band near hem, and a blouse with white collar and wide sleeves. She wears two necklaces, one with crucifix, and her hands are clasped in front of her. Plain background with curtain on the left. Contained in small brown leather album with two ornate brass clasps and a small brass shield on front with three engraved initials, SCD. 1861 (possibly Sophia Dickinson)
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. This album and photographs belonged to the Dickinson family; Mary Dickinson, 1853-1921, marrying the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later 6th Viscount Clifden, 1844-1921.
