Summary
Studio photograph, full length, of a man wearing a long dark jacket and light trousers. He holds a thin cane and gloves in his right hand and a top hat in his left which rests on the back of an upholstered chair. Plain background with draped curtain and a patterned floor. Contained in small brown leather album with two ornate brass clasps and a small brass shield on front with three engraved initials, SCD. 1861 (possibly Sophia Dickinson)
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. This album and photographs belonged to the Dickinson family; Mary Dickinson, 1853-1921, marrying the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later 6th Viscount Clifden, 1844-1921.
