Summary
Photograph - Studio portrait of a young married woman and young man holding an open book. The woman stands on the right of the photograph facing the youth with her right hand resting on a table. She wears a dress with bustle and front skirt; several items hang from her belt. The young man who is half sitting on the table with one foot on the ground, the other on a velvet foot stool, wears plus fours and matching jacket. Plain background and draped curtain on right of photograph. c.1870 Contained in a dark green leather photograph album with embossed design on front and back, containing twenty four pages, forty eight sides, with slip-in sections and gold printed borders.
Provenance
This album was a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
