Summary
Studio photograph of a bearded man, the Hon. Thomas Charles Agar-Robartes, later Viscount Clifden, 1844-1930, seated in a carved arm chair chair holding a cane in his right hand. He wears a dark jacket, waistcoat and tie, light cord/striped trousers and has a handkerchief in his breast pocket. Part of a carved piece of furniture with lions head holding a ring in its mouth is just visible on right of the photograph c.1878 Contained in a dark green leather photograph album with embossed design on front and back, containing twenty four pages, forty eight sides, with slip-in sections and gold printed borders.
Provenance
This album was a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
