Photograph of a bricked street in Chester with tramlines. Variety of buildings, several half-timbered and many with columns, one reading BROWN, HOLMES AND CO., SILK MERCERS/TO HER MAJESTY AND H.R.H. THE PRINCESS OF WALES, and an arch in distance across the street. Two horse-drawn carriages in foreground. Contained in a red leather photograph album with gold tooling on spine and front cover. c.1895

A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
