Mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell veneered visiting or calling card case with diamond pattern of mother-of-pearl with leaves and flowers and central diamond and corners of tortoiseshell. Contains a scrap of paper on which is written Cattle Market / Jan 5.1934 / 3/6. Top plate.
Provenance
This case is from a mother of pearl collection, which includes two fans, fifteen card cases and other items, collected by Mrs. Marjorie Watts and given by her to the National Trust in 1979.
