Summary
A photograph taken from upper window of a building looking towards a square/wide street with large three-storey buildings on the far side, one with external sun blinds hiding the windows, and a large equestrian statue with iron railings in the centre. Tram lines run across the photograph and a tram can be seen the far side of the statue. Horse and carriages stand in the shade in the left hand corner and people and carriages can be seen in the square. Contained in an olive green Kodak photograph album containing family photographs, c.1898
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave the house to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there until his death.
