Summary
Papier mache cover for a blotter with painting of Lanhydrock c.1830 on the front. Interior with ink stains and remains of sealing wax. Mother-of-pearl studs on each side, only one remaining on front cover with three on back. With blotting paper.
Provenance
There is a letter on file, dated 22.7.1968, mentioning the fan/hand screen along with other family pieces. The blotter is obviously a set with the fan. Presumably acquired when the house was given by the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, in 1953.
