Summary
Document - Framed certificate of thanks from the Royal National Life Boat Institute to T.J. Agar-Robartes, MP, for his services to the Lifeboat cause on the coast of Cornwall dated 1867. The accompanying model of a lifeboat is also on display nearby, See LAN.MO.2. The ornate gilt frame has rope border with knots on two sides and at corners.
Provenance
A gift from The Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, 8th Viscount Clifden, after the death of his sister, The Hon. Everilda, in 1969. He did not wish to live at Lanhydrock so those items not already given by the 7th Viscount Clifden were either sold or acquired by the Trust. Possibly given to Lady Robartes by the Pole Carew family.
