Provenance
A gift from Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave the house to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there until his death in 1966. This model was made for the 7th Viscount by Mr. Edgar Hodgkinson from clay excavated from a blastpit caused by a doodlebug. Presented as a thank you gift for looking after his son, Alex, and his daughter who were evacuees at Lanhydrock during the war. Shown in a photograph of the Smoking Room taken by John Bethell in 1973.
