Summary
Straw boater from Eton with HIBERNIA on green hat band and a metal badge of figurehead and harp pinned on front. Labelled inside F.G. Agar-Robartes. Made by New and Lingwood, Eton.
Provenance
A gift from Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave the house to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there until his death in 1966. In the 1979 inventory it mentions that these are Eton rowing hats, Victory for the champion crew and Hibernia for the runners up.
