Summary
One of three wall hangings, entitled RULES OF THE ETON SOCIETY, edged in white satin ribbon and overlaid with four canes tied with similar ribbon. The rules are printed by Spottiswood and Co. Ltd., Printers, Eton College. Rules drawn up 1836, revised 1838, 48, 49, 59, 80 and 1898.
Provenance
Acquired on transfer of the house to the National Trust. Rebound with ribbon from Messrs. New & Lingwood, Eton, Windsor, in 1971 as in bad condition. See letter on file 4th January 1971.
