Summary
Brown suede covered writing case initialled in gilt on lid A.V.A-R., the interior in similar coloured leather with pockets on underside of lid, and a full sized loose blotting pad. Also in pocket on lid is a portable ink well in brass case with hinged lid, LAN.M.651, a cream dip pen, LAN.Misc.118 , a visiting or calling card belonging to Mr. Victor Agar Robartes, a plain envelope and three pieces of writing paper address l Great Stanhope Street, LAN.EP.70-73.
Provenance
Probably acquired on transfer of the house to the National Trust, but as this case belonged to the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes and there is no documention on it, the case might not have come into the house until after his death in 1974.
