Summary
Brown leather picnic case initialled C.E.A-R. with carrying strap and buckle. The interior is lined with white plastic and has lift out wicker case for the ten cups, LAN.C.419, two bottles, LAN.C.421 and LAN.C.422 and four tins, LAN.M.719, with hinged fitting for a wine bottle; separate wicker casings for the eight tumblers, LAN.C.420. Leather straps on lid contain two bottle openers, LAN.M.720 and LAN.M.721
Provenance
This case belonged to the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes who died in 1939 and so was acquired when Lanhydrock was given to the National Trust in 1953 by Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden.
