Summary
Eight-day English drop-dial clock in mahogany case, by Jno. Payne, Wallingford, c.1830. Two-train, five-pillar, fusee movement with shaped plates and anchor escapement. Rack striking on a bell. The circular, convex white-painted dial has roman numerals and is signed in the centre: “Jno. Payne, Wallingford”. Steel hands. The mahogany case has access doors to side and base and a cast brass bezel with a convex glass over the dial.
