Summary
A mahogany and cane swing-frame cradle, English, circa 1870. With caned sides and pointed ogee-shaped hood with finials, hanging between baluster-turned supports with urn finials and joined by stretchers, with ring-turned handle-bar feet.
Provenance
This cradle came to the National Trust in April 1981, originally as a loan but then as a gift on the death of the donor, Mrs. I.M.M. Ellisen, via her solicitor Mr. Calvert Smith of Richmond, Surrey. It was on display at Trerice (TRE.F.49) for some time before transferring to Lanhydrock when the nursery wing opened.
