Summary
A walnut, burr-walnut, tulipwood, sycamore and marquetry centre table, English, circa 1860. The circular top profusely inlaid with flowers with a separate central panel and an outer meandering ebonised border, the moulded edge carved with trailing foliate detail, on a foliate-carved pedestal base with bulbous gadrooned column and downswept legs with scroll feet and castors.
Provenance
Given by the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, to the National Trust with the house in 1953. Photographs show this table in the Long Gallery in the 1940s.
