One of a pair of ebonised and gilt-heightened upholstered low chairs, English, circa 1880. Each with buttoned back-rest and rounded seat, on square tapering legs with block feet and castors.

Provenance unknown, but to be seen in a photograph of Lady Robartes's Room taken by John Bethell for the National Trust in 1973.
