Full description
William Winsor and Henry Newton established their partnership at 38 Rathbone Place, London in 1832 to manufacture a wide variety of fine art products, later becoming Winsor & Newton Ltd. by 1881. Queen Victoria awarded Winsor & Newton their first Royal warrant and today Winsor & Newton remains by Appointment to HRH the Prince of Wales.
Provenance
A gift of Gerald, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave the house to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there until his death in 1966. His sister, Everilda, remained at the house until her death in 1969.
