Summary
A carved oak umbrella or stick stand, German, probably Black Forest, circa 1880. Modelled as a curly-coated begging dog, the base inset with crescent-shaped metal drip tray.
Provenance
A gift of The Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there until his death in 1966. Listed in the March 1972 inventory.
