Summary
Watercolour on paper, Landscape with Cattle by Thomas Morris (1771 – fl.1794). Grey watercolour of a landscape with cattle under tree in foreground, a tower on a wooded hill behind. Pasted on to mount and underneath in pencil is written, 'Probably by Dr. Thomas Morris about 1805/Dr. Thomas Morris taught Turner in his youth how to paint'.
Provenance
Found in the attics so possibly acquired on transfer of the house to the National Trust. Several other paintings have the same framing.
